I was a multi-sport fanatic until I injured my back playing Gaelic football in 1985, when I was 24 years old. My condition worsened ever since, and I had to give up contact sports about ten years ago.
Since the injury I have had chronic restricted movements of my right hip, trapped nerves in my lower back, and pain in my left knee. When getting up from sitting on a chair I always felt shooting pain up and down my right thigh, and the base of my back was tender. I felt as if my hip was out of it's joint, and sleeping on the right side was painful.
After doing the exercises on the Pelvic Restrainer for the first time my lower back felt very loose, but I was most amazed when I noticed that getting up from the chair did not give me that shooting pain to my right thigh any more. I sat down again and stayed sitting for a minute and got up again and still there was no pain. This relief lasted 4 or 5 days. Another exercise that totally overwhelmed me was the leg extension / Hip rotation exercise. My left leg before hand had 90% movement and my right leg 10% movement. Strapped in the machine, I extended my right leg and did this 10 times without any major discomfort. When I came off the machine I could not believe the near full motion of movement that I had in my right hip, again for the first time since my injury in 1985. This again lasted for a couple of days, and I could even sleep on my right side once again.
I believe that with continued use over time I would have full movement in my pelvic area. My only regret is that the Pelvic Restrainer wasn't around when I was first injured.
Words are not strong enough to use in praise of this machine.
